Merdeka

Happy 52nd Birthday, Malaysia :)

Even though you have some flaws, I’m still glad that I was born here and that I am Malaysian.

***

Anywho, yesterday as my parents way of celebrating Merdeka. We drove up to Lata Kinjang to enjoy Malaysia’s natural beauty. It was about a 4 hour drive up and we at first heard rumours that the place was actually just a small river and you couldn’t even see the waterfall.

BUT hehe, like certain rumours are, this one was false. When we got there, though the facilities weren’t up to par for tourists (the bathroom had no water and there were proper trash cans) the view was gorgeous; as was the fresh water. Me and my family had our own natural massage :P

And in all Merdeka spirit we got to see Malaysia’s national butterfly, the Raja Brooke. There were so many of them :D

A(H1N1) Prevention

Got this in my email today. It is a forwarded email and therefore could be false… but hey, never hurt to drink coconut juice. And its yummy too. ^^

This is what the email said:

Former associate professor of ecology at Universiti Malaya has authored several books on complementary therapy called, 'Ecological Healing System'.

Dr Palaniappan said his 33 years of research had shown that high acidity in the body resulted in loss of immunity, thus making people more susceptible to viral diseases like Influenza A (H1N1).

Hence, to prevent acidity, it was essential to consume alkaline food and drinks that could neutralise excess acid in the body.

Dr Palaniappan recommends coconut water, which is alkaline, and therefore could be used as a herbal medicine for the prevention of H1N1.

For example, he said, those who felt feverish and developed a burning sensation while attending to a call of nature because of extreme acidity, could neutralise it by drinking coconut water, twice a day, for three days.

He also recommended orange, lemon and pomelo which, despite containing citric acid, were very rich in potassium and therefore, would not disturb the body's immunity.

According to Dr Palaniappan, excessive physical activity like running a marathon should be avoided as it produced acid due to excessive metabolic activity.

Similarly, he said, keeping late nights without adequate sleep and working without proper rest could also increase the body's acidity which in turn, lowered immunity and made the body vulnerable to viral attacks.

Dr Palaniappan's blog:
EcoHealingSystem discusses the therapy in more detail.

So hey, drink more coconut water and it might just save your life. Mmmmm…

Six Days of Beach Holidays

I’m back. From six days of beaches. And guess what, I’m not burned :D

Thurs – Fri: Cherating

P8130018
The Legend Resort

There we hung around the pool and my dad took us to this nice seafood restaurant that he went to before. We had oysters and crab and more crab :P It was really nice cuz it wasn’t a public holiday so the place was very empty and wasn't filled with little annoying kids or adults that took up too much space hehe.

P8130047P8130048The restaurant was right by the beach so we had some sea breeze as we were eating and because of that breeze it was really cooling too. :)

Fri – Sun: Gem Island

We made our way to the jetty to get a boat to the private island. The waves were really strong and at one point I was holding on tight and the speed boat went across a wave and as the boat flew in the air for a second, so did I =.=" and then when we land the water splashed in and I got half soaked.

The island is called Gem Island, the water there is soo clear, you can see all the sea cucumbers lying at the bottom haha. The island is half a turtle sanctuary, half a resort and spa. There was a pool in the front filled with little tiny baby turtles. Damn cute.

P8160216Hehe, they look like ants from this angle :P

P8150135Where they incubate the eggs before they hatch.

There we went kayaking, snorkeling and just lazing around on the beach. It was really nice. As were our rooms too! Hehe, though to conserve energy, half the day there was no electricity.

When we went snorkeling, I saw a shark. I was calling my mom over to see a big fish that I saw, but before she could swim over, it had already swam away but apparently she saw another big fish... she saw a shark and as she was trying to point it out to me, it swam right by us. It was like mayb 5ft long. It freaked us both out haha and we scared for our lives. XD I just googled it, what we saw was a Blacktip Reef Shark. hehe

Mon – Tues: Port Dickson

This time with my friends. Haha Maddie, Clare and Ashley and Me. So we got this one bedroom apt, in Ancasa resort, where we all squeezed into. We cooked steamboat and then melted chocolate to make our own chocolate fondue where we dipped bananas and marshmallows hehe. It was yummyy :D Oo.. and we went banana boating. It was fun especially when we told the guy we didn't want to capsize, but during the ending, he deliberately made sharp turns to try and make us fall. but we didn’t ^^. hehe but the thrill of the sudden turns was really fun.

After we checked out the next day, we stopped at Lukut for breakfast/lunch. Maddie says whenever she comes down to P.D with her bf she always stops here to eat. It was good :)

We arrived in KL around 3pm. We went to Maddie’s place to laze a bit. Then Clare and Maddie went for a brazillian wax over in Curve, a place called Strip: Ministry of Waxing. Haha. Maddie said it hurt like shit, but Clare (cuz she was already use to it) said she didn’t feel a thing =.=” haha.

Anyways, before they went up for waxing we stopped at Sakae for a snack and we had our Salmon Mentai as we always do. And as we were eating it we all agreed that we take Salmon Mentai over sex ANY DAY. ;) keke.

I haven’t installed it yet, so I dunno if my computer specs are high enough for it. but cross my fingers and pray to god that everything works. I’m gonna uninstall my whole Sims 2 expansion packs and everything first to conserve space ^^.
