A New Decade

So it’ll be officially 2010 tomorrow. Wow. Time really goes by too fast. I should think back on what I’ve done this year… but truthfully, I’m too lazy ^^

Boxing Day was awesome. I got a new jacket and a top from Zara. A top and a dress from Ted Baker. A hat from Accessorize. and Boots from Clarks. :D All for less than £90!! hehe.

Also, cuz my friend from New Jersey has been down in London and I’ve been showing him around, I’m semi-taken the role of tourist as well. We went to visit Windsor Castle as well as the Tower of London.

For Christmas Eve, he cooked for us and we had a mini house party at our place. Because he has forbidden me to put up any pictures of him, I cannot post the dinner pictures online. haha. But it was awesome having so many people over at our place at once :D His cooking was tres good too!!

I’ve no plans for NYE but who noes what will happen. Nas is going back to Brighton. So I think Ji will be coming over. Mayb i’ll drag her into central with me to watch the fireworks. IF i want to deal with that huge ass crowd. Its too expensive to club on NYE, so I'll pass on that. Most ppl I know plan to go out and get drunk tho… so hmmm… will I be missing out if I don’t do the same?

Its stopped snowing here already. It mainly just rains now. Whee >.<”

Anyways… yea. My new year resolution is to stop getting into shit. :D hehe. Hopefully I can accomplish that.

Happy 2010 Everyone!!

Stuck Here

So I decided last minute to just go back to Malaysia. But now I can’t. :(

I decided Tuesday night to go back and called KLM in the morning to change my return date for my year return ticket to the coming Monday BUT they said they could try and book but would be unable to confirm the seat until after three working days… Well, that would mean I’d have to call them on Monday? So the guy told me to call Friday evening and hopefully I’ll be able to know by then.

So I called them this afternoon during the end of my class when everyone was finishing up the final copy of our group newspaper. I wasn’t given anything to do and whenever I asked for work, I was just shoo-ed aside. So, fuck them, I’ll do my own business then.

The only available seat was a business class seat and because of my ticket, I wouldn’t be able to switch to that business class seat. I’d have to pay the whole fee for the ticket. So screw that. They said the next most available date is Jan 10th. wtf =.=” I need to go into uni on the 11th and I have 2 HUGE reports due on the 14th. SO I really don’t have time to go back to Msia in that case :(

***

On a bright side, last Sunday was the Geminids Meteor Shower. Me and my flatmate went out around 1am-ish with a hot cup of mocha, dragged our chairs out and her camera and watched the stars.

I saw SOOO many meteors. Each one takes my breath away I keep forgetting to make a wish as soon as I see one :P It was also my first time I’ve ever seen a meteor shower. Nas (my flatmate) managed to catch one on her camera but she hasn’t touched up or developed that photo yet, so I can’t upload it. But its seriously the most gorgeous thing you’d ever see.

***

Holidays have started today :D YAYYYYYY!! I’m prepared for sleeping in and pigging out.

Hwai Jeh and Kat are also in London (I think), so I shall try and meet up with them before I start even looking at any of my work. Sucks tho, that basically NO TRANSPORT is working on Christmas day. Guess I’m gonna be stuck in Zone 4. meh…

Oh, and if you don’t know, its snowed in London these past 3 days. :)

We’re going to have a White Christmas this year <3

18122009

I just wish it wasn’t so bloody cold. I’m freezing my ass off >.<”

Dunno what the plan is for tomorrow… Nas wants me to model for her for her Dreams photo project. So maybe that will be fun. If Hwai Jeh is in London, I hope he finds some way to contact him… I didn’t go online yesterday so I don’t know if he’s here or not and I didn’t manage to give him any of my contact details… Gah. If he’s here, he should have arrived 9am today. Hmmmmm…. Well, what to do.

On a side note, I’ve been really addicted to this MMORPG called Dragonica. Hehe. Once you start, the hours just fly by you. I want to play now, but my internet provider is down and I’m stealing my neighbour’s signal… bleh.

I know what I want for Christmas, do you?

happy holz

Decisions, Decisions

I’ve been quite sick the past few days with migraines, fevers, sore throats and now coming the runny nose. Every symptom of any common flu >.<”

I called my parents today to see if I could go to the WorldMUN conference in Taiwan. They said it was too expensive, so I can’t go :(

Basically through the phone call, they could hear that I was sick. Now they think I should come back to Malaysia for Christmas and New Years. I don’t know if I should or if I even want to…

For one thing, I do miss my family and it’d be really nice to spend such holidays with them. And I won’t even get to celebrate CNY with them… On a negative note, as soon as I go back, ALL freedom is stripped from me.

Most of my friends are back in Malaysia this holiday as well. But he is staying here. He’s only going back for Chinese New Years. So I’m partly hoping that we can do something together for these events. But then… those chances are probably quite low. Also, I’ve seen most of my friends over summer break and they was only a few months ago…

I’ve never had a Christmas or New Years here yet. I went back last winter so I dunno… Out of a culture experience, I’d like to celebrate it here.

Studies wise… I’ve got four news pieces to write, two HUGE essays as well as helping Nas with her photo project.

I was also suppose to go to Nottingham from the 7th – 11th Jan but now that I need to come in to uni on the 8th to check the magazine’s digital proof, that idea is kinda thrown out the window. >.<”

I dunnooooooooo. :( Excuse the rant.

UoL Duality

Clubbed at Cable London last Friday.

13034_349737055528_718610528_9888950_263584_n

There indeed was drama ;) Someone got really drunk to the point that they started slapping their friends as well as beginning to act really irrationally.

We were all up dancing on podiums and having a ball. I got quite tipsy. We went in a group of 15, but slowly split as we all got into the clubbing mood. I got my foot stepped on :( and its bruised slightly now.

-230008_38

There were some photographers there too. Me and my friends got our photo taken a few times but I could only find one. My friend would be the girl on the far right. The dude in the centre was this crazy guy who danced by himself. They later started stripping, which was traumatic and we quickly moved rooms. :S

He was there. but then.. the “other” he was there and was stuck to him like glue. So I barely even got the chance to talk to him. Haihh.. hiding sucks.

***

I’ve got an MUN conference at Queen Mary this Saturday. I’m representing Italy. I haven’t done ANY research >.<”

I’ve also got two project deadlines coming up next week. We’ve got to have our magazine complete and our newspaper done too. AHH! So much workkkk. :(

***

Going out partying again this Saturday night to accompany my friend bcuz a guy is hitting on her and she doesn’t want to be alone. We’re thinking of checking out the Fire Club which is holding a KPop night. Hope that will be fun. Can’t wait for someone to have a CPop night ^^

Might go to another ABACUS event on Monday night as well. But don’t know if I can be bothered. Its £20 per ticket which is crazy, especially since I’ve been spending so much money on clubbing these few weeks anyways. =.=”

I’m clubbing WAY too much.

Just maybe one day...

I like this guy.
But he says he doesn't see me that way.
What is the role of a pet sister anyways?
Is it just the nice way to say "I don't like you."?

We talk alot, and I feel a special bond to him.
There are always butterflies when I'm going out to meet him or when I just look at him.
I'm a fool, aren't I? Holding onto someone I cannot have.

Is there a way to control your own feelings?
If there was then perhaps I'd be a better person and not be so cruel to those who treat me so nicely.

I'm emo-ing. Just leave me be.

I'll hold on to him.
I'll make him fall in love with me.
There's got to be determination to get results, right?

Annoying thing is, people say that from what they see, he already likes me too.
Then why won't he accept me? Why won't you accept me?
I just want to stop hiding my feelings for you.

In LONDONN

Yes I know, I haven’t update in agesss. Basically my main excuse is that I only got proper internet like a week ago. Before that me and my flatmate were sharing one modem cable between us. But we’ve finally got that all sorted and we’re settled in our new place and everything :D

My mom was with us for the first two week to help me move in and everything. So I my settling into my new place was much easier.

One of the days we took a trip to Bicester Village. Which is basically this market in Oxfordshire set out as a long street filled with branded shops and in these shops they sell things at really cheap discounted retail prices. I got myself a Karen Millen dress for about 50% off the original retail price :D :D My mom got herself LV bags among other things lol. It was really an experience.

PA030065

The entrance my place looks quite dodgy at night and we have a source of daily exercise going up and down our stairs. And I've fallen down these stairs ONCE. Its probably going to happen more in the future, but so far, the count is at one. haha. In all fairness, it had been raining and the stairs were wet :( Unfortunately at the same time I gave my flatmate’s mom and horrible first impression by leaving the flat and then two seconds coming back in with a horrible stain on my butt saying that I fell down the stairs. >.<”

stairs up

Socially, I’ve clubbed wayy more than last year. :D Hehe, three times so far. Yesterday being the latest one. Went to Mayfair Vendome for a City Malaysian Night which was really fun. I haven’t got the pics for that night yet but I’ll post those pics and talk about that night as soon as I get them :)

The first time this year was at The Penthouse in Leicester Square at an ABACUS event called TEN:10. Went with Mel and her flatmate Jenny :D SOO many cute guys hehehe.

me, mel n jen

Second time was a UCL Malaysian society event at another club in Mayfair called Maddox. The club was really nice, but the event wasn’t that fun. Mainly cuz the music didn’t have enough bass and probably cuz I didn’t go with the right crowd. The fun ppl there tho were me, Mel and Ji :D

ji, me, mel

There will be more events soon :P

On a side note, my flatmate is an AWESOME cook. hehe. She’s cooking dinner now and I can spell the food and its sooo delish :D We even experimented and made onigiri :D

Mouth watering no? hehe. I’m so lucky to have a flatmate that is actually livable with. I’ve been hearing alot of people complaining about people they are living with. :) But I guess I’m either very tolerable or very lucky ^^

Flying in 7 Days

So I’ll be flying to London in about 7days andd my mom will be flying there with me :D Hehe I need a driver to move my stuff from Zone 1 all the way to Zone 4 and the fact that I’m under 25 and only have a P license does not help situations much.

So life so far since I’ve last updated…

Well.. I cut my hair today :P

hair

You can’t really see that much of a difference and the before wasn't a very recent before either. I haven’t been taking a lot of photos of myself recently haha.

Anyways any main difference would be that it got shorter basically. Maybe back to its original? haha but it got so long that I could actually tie a pony tail with it. See:

P9040337

LAWLz.

I slept over at Melissa’s new place. It was HUGE. She has a her own swimming pool and a pool table and a koi pond. Just Wow. haha and she got a doggie too.

11092009_003

Adorable. Her name is Cleo. She does sort of resemble a squirrel. hehe.

Been really bored at home and resorted to going to the arcade alot and actually started racing. Bought myself a DX card hehe. I shall tune up my new car and make myself famous. muahahaha. :)

P9180348
Other than that… tmr is my cousin’s wedding. I’m supposedly going to be one of the bridesmaids who try and give challenges to the groom so that he proves his love to her or something like that.  Never been one before so it’ll be a cool experience.

Wednesday going to watch Ugly Truth. Can’t wait :D

I watched Gamer the other day. Wasn’t impressed.

Watched G-Force too. Cute and funny but quite predictable plot. haha. and Speckles didn’t sound like Nicholas Cage at ALL. :S

Duno whether I’m excited to be going back or not. Its going be like starting over again. I didn’t really make a lot of course friends last year as I was mainly hanging out with either the GIS gang or the Angel gang.

My goal this year (other than to pass with flying colors) is to make more friends in my uni!! YARR!

Merdeka

Happy 52nd Birthday, Malaysia :)

Even though you have some flaws, I’m still glad that I was born here and that I am Malaysian.

***

Anywho, yesterday as my parents way of celebrating Merdeka. We drove up to Lata Kinjang to enjoy Malaysia’s natural beauty. It was about a 4 hour drive up and we at first heard rumours that the place was actually just a small river and you couldn’t even see the waterfall.

BUT hehe, like certain rumours are, this one was false. When we got there, though the facilities weren’t up to par for tourists (the bathroom had no water and there were proper trash cans) the view was gorgeous; as was the fresh water. Me and my family had our own natural massage :P

P8300310

And in all Merdeka spirit we got to see Malaysia’s national butterfly, the Raja Brooke. There were so many of them :D

A(H1N1) Prevention

Got this in my email today. It is a forwarded email and therefore could be false… but hey, never hurt to drink coconut juice. And its yummy too. ^^

This is what the email said:

Former associate professor of ecology at Universiti Malaya has authored several books on complementary therapy called, 'Ecological Healing System'.

Dr Palaniappan said his 33 years of research had shown that high acidity in the body resulted in loss of immunity, thus making people more susceptible to viral diseases like Influenza A (H1N1).

Hence, to prevent acidity, it was essential to consume alkaline food and drinks that could neutralise excess acid in the body.

Dr Palaniappan recommends coconut water, which is alkaline, and therefore could be used as a herbal medicine for the prevention of H1N1.

For example, he said, those who felt feverish and developed a burning sensation while attending to a call of nature because of extreme acidity, could neutralise it by drinking coconut water, twice a day, for three days.

He also recommended orange, lemon and pomelo which, despite containing citric acid, were very rich in potassium and therefore, would not disturb the body's immunity.

According to Dr Palaniappan, excessive physical activity like running a marathon should be avoided as it produced acid due to excessive metabolic activity.

Similarly, he said, keeping late nights without adequate sleep and working without proper rest could also increase the body's acidity which in turn, lowered immunity and made the body vulnerable to viral attacks.

Dr Palaniappan's blog:
EcoHealingSystem discusses the therapy in more detail.

So hey, drink more coconut water and it might just save your life. Mmmmm…

Six Days of Beach Holidays

I’m back. From six days of beaches. And guess what, I’m not burned :D

Thurs – Fri: Cherating

P8130018
The Legend Resort

There we hung around the pool and my dad took us to this nice seafood restaurant that he went to before. We had oysters and crab and more crab :P It was really nice cuz it wasn’t a public holiday so the place was very empty and wasn't filled with little annoying kids or adults that took up too much space hehe.

P8130047P8130048The restaurant was right by the beach so we had some sea breeze as we were eating and because of that breeze it was really cooling too. :)

Fri – Sun: Gem Island

We made our way to the jetty to get a boat to the private island. The waves were really strong and at one point I was holding on tight and the speed boat went across a wave and as the boat flew in the air for a second, so did I =.=" and then when we land the water splashed in and I got half soaked.

P8140065Our boat

The island is called Gem Island, the water there is soo clear, you can see all the sea cucumbers lying at the bottom haha. The island is half a turtle sanctuary, half a resort and spa. There was a pool in the front filled with little tiny baby turtles. Damn cute.

P8160216Hehe, they look like ants from this angle :P

P8150135Where they incubate the eggs before they hatch.

There we went kayaking, snorkeling and just lazing around on the beach. It was really nice. As were our rooms too! Hehe, though to conserve energy, half the day there was no electricity.

P8140070

P8160202 Our bed and the patio :)

P8160206

When we went snorkeling, I saw a shark. I was calling my mom over to see a big fish that I saw, but before she could swim over, it had already swam away but apparently she saw another big fish... she saw a shark and as she was trying to point it out to me, it swam right by us. It was like mayb 5ft long. It freaked us both out haha and we scared for our lives. XD I just googled it, what we saw was a Blacktip Reef Shark. hehe

Mon – Tues: Port Dickson

This time with my friends. Haha Maddie, Clare and Ashley and Me. So we got this one bedroom apt, in Ancasa resort, where we all squeezed into. We cooked steamboat and then melted chocolate to make our own chocolate fondue where we dipped bananas and marshmallows hehe. It was yummyy :D Oo.. and we went banana boating. It was fun especially when we told the guy we didn't want to capsize, but during the ending, he deliberately made sharp turns to try and make us fall. but we didn’t ^^. hehe but the thrill of the sudden turns was really fun.

P8170245Steamboat ingredients :D

P8170276Chocolate fonduee (home-made)

After we checked out the next day, we stopped at Lukut for breakfast/lunch. Maddie says whenever she comes down to P.D with her bf she always stops here to eat. It was good :)

P8180281La Zha Min (sp?) in Lukut

We arrived in KL around 3pm. We went to Maddie’s place to laze a bit. Then Clare and Maddie went for a brazillian wax over in Curve, a place called Strip: Ministry of Waxing. Haha. Maddie said it hurt like shit, but Clare (cuz she was already use to it) said she didn’t feel a thing =.=” haha.

Anyways, before they went up for waxing we stopped at Sakae for a snack and we had our Salmon Mentai as we always do. And as we were eating it we all agreed that we take Salmon Mentai over sex ANY DAY. ;) keke.

P8180284Salmon Mentai in Sakae Sushi: The Curve

OH. and yesterday I went out steamboat with some GIS friends and they gave me a much belated birthday present. Guess what I have an original copy of!! THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYSS :D

P8200288SIMS 3!!!!

I haven’t installed it yet, so I dunno if my computer specs are high enough for it. but cross my fingers and pray to god that everything works. I’m gonna uninstall my whole Sims 2 expansion packs and everything first to conserve space ^^.

p/s. I passed my driving test :D hehe so now I just gotta wait for my P license to come then I’m all good for the road :D
