Movie Comic Media Expo

Went to the MCM Expo yesterday. Was really fun. Got to see cosplayers and experience an anime convention. This was the first time I ever went to one. It was a movie/anime/games kinda convention. So other than anime cosplayers you’d see like Street Fighter dress ups, or Blade, or like Star Wars and stuff. The yellow car is the car from Transformers.

Me, Nas and Kavien started off from Northwick Park at 8am and travelled all the way down to Canary Wharf then took a shuttle to ExCel London. We got there and started queueing, thinking it was the queue to buy the tickets (because this queue was longer) LITTLE DID WE KNOW, the queue we were waiting it was actually for the fast track ppl who had already bought their tickets. =.=” We only found out when we were infront of the Expo entrance and everyone already had their tickets, so we had to go ALL THE WAY back and buy the ticks. Haha. We waited outside to chill and wait for the queue to die down and outside you could see all the cosplayers and stuff coming in.

Nas and Kavien were both photographers so they were busy taking photos of the cosplayers and stuff with their cool high tech cams. Hehe. With me and my normal point and shoot, so i don’t have that many pictures of cosplayers. But there were alot of really good costumes. We saw a REALLY GOOD Death Note Shinigami. The picture is with Nas but he was so awesome; tall, gangly and with a really great costume too. :D

There were alot of Sailor Moon and Naruto cosplayers. Maybe cause its so easy to get the jacket but there were alot of Itachi (Sasuke’s brother) cosplayers and there was one really good Kakashi one, with the pervert book and everything. Haha. Okay, I’m beginning to sound a bit too much like a crazy anime person so I shall stop talking about them. But I was really surprised at how much effort people really put into the costumes and how much thought and months of planning must have been involved in that kinda thing.

The shops inside were adorable, there were stuff toys and manga and anime for sale. There were REAL katanas and cosplay costumes for sale too. I ended up really splurging as I bought this cute hat and this Fruit Basket lighter and this gift for a friend. AH. i spent so much money I feel so guilty, but I’m so glad I bought the stuff. I really wanna brag about the gift I bought for the friend but for the sake of keeping it a secret, I’ll maybe say what I bought for him later :P.

Hehe we went back about 5:30 and ended an exhausted day. I got home and after telling Tian all about my day, collapsed in bed and fell asleep :D

Chen Tze’s Bday “surprise”

Went to have dinner with CT on friday. Was suppose to be a surprise dinner but when all of us were about to go up to his apartment, he came out of his lift =.=””

Does he look surprised to anyone? Haha poor Ashwin and Joyce who put so much effort into it and then in the end, the birthday boy had to ruin everything and actually step out of the lift when we were about to leave. What are the chances, srsly?

We went to eat Tapas at a nearby restaurant. There were 17 ppl there. Huge long table for all of us to share. Ordering for everything seemed too complicated so we just ended up splitting the table so 4 to 5 ppl shared a certain number of dishes. Me, Melissa, Dion, Bonnie and later Victor had steamed mussells, sea bass, bread, salmon, and… I cant remember. We ordered meat balls as well, but me and Melissa had to leave early, so didn’t get to try those. OF the food we tried tho, they were really good and quite affordable as well.

Me and Melissa left early to catch a movie at the Waterloo IMAX. We went to watch NIght at the Museum 2, and we thought (cuz it was being shown at IMAX) that the movie would be 3D; it wasn’t. BUT we got to watch it on a huge ass screen which was damn nice, so it wasn’t a complete waste. Night of the Museum 2 was quite funny as well, more of a plot that the first one. Overall I quite enjoyed it. Went to watch it with Tian, Chris, Melissa and I.

After the movie, Melissa went to join CT again for more fun and apparently they had started drinking. I went with Chris and Tian to Chinatown, had KFC and then Chris went off to fish and I went to join CT for some drinking as well.

There wasn’t alot of drinking. Haha. We played Taboo, movie charades then Ring of Fire. But no one really got insanely out of control drunk, the bday boy himself only got really tipsy and crazy. Around 5, 6am we stopped as Joyce and Sue Ping had to lug CT back to his apartment. These are the people that made it all the way to 6am with us.

Arrived back in Harrow at 8am and managed to get a few hours of sleep before remember that I had to go see the Storage place for where I’m keeping my stuff for the summer.

Is Homeless- NOT!

I finally have a place to stay next year.

You are an ANGEL, Nas. Srsly :D Nas’s cousin has kindly allowed us to rent a 2bdroom flat next year for just the same amount as I’m paying here, just without the bills. AND the place is practically perfect. Okay, so I haven’t seen it yet.. but Nas said there is a supermarket, laundromat, post office, bank and even tube station rEALLY nearby. AND the rooms are bigger than the ones I’m staying in now.. AND we get our own lounge. WHEE~ I’m so glad I’m going to be out of these halls next year… AND i’ll be with someone that I am totally comfortable with. ^^ I’m tres excited. :D

I was so worried that i’d hav no where to stay next year and those stupid ppl i emailed about seeing hses nvr replied me either, so its so awesome that i dont hav to go thru the hassle of looking for a place by myself and probably almost getting killed/raped in the process. also, halls only reply if u hav a place like in August which is quite useless if u ask me. cuz it practically gives you NO time to look for somewhere else to stay.

AHH.. you have no idea how much i love Nas rite now :D AND her parents might put her cat with us which will be UBER double awesome. hehe.

Gonna view the place probably sometime next week. Cross fingers, hope everything works out well.

Extended Weekend

Melissa came for a sleep over on Saturday. It was really fun. We met for a picnic at Hyde Park first with the GISians, then later went Covent Garden to look for gifts for Alex and Cheen since they were holding a dinner the next day.

We got them this squishy ball thing where when you squeeze them, they change colour and become swollen and disgusting looking. It was so cool!!

That night I intro-d her to Sims 2 and we created a JR Sim and made him go on holiday and live with us and stuff. hahaha. It was hilarious how close we got the sim to look like him :D Didn’t get a pic, but those of you who know who JR is, just imagine him like a sim except slimmer and with brown hair. hehe.

The next day we went shopping and I bought this nice dress for only £5. Damn nice :D and it worked really well with my £1 necklace, Melissa’s earrings and her belt. hehe. You can’t really see the dress though, but what it actually is is that there are four holes on each side of the sleeves and the dress goes to about above knee and its nice, light and cottony.

While waiting for melissa to get ready, I cam-whored in her room. Hehehe. She’s got this nice long mirror which I want!!

Once I move wherever next year, I don’t care, I am for sure getting one. Hehe.

I also bought these super cool earrings, but haven’t got the chance to wear them yet, I didn’t want to over dress for the dinner, so lucky I only dressed like this. But then the weather got facking windy the next two days and I didn’t have any clothes to change into… because, i stayed at Angel for the next two days. I shall explain why soon. hehe.

We went to Mayflower for Cheen’s/Alex’s dinner. The cake was huge and cream filled. over whelmingly creamy. Haha.

This be Cheen and her cake. The dinner was actually suppose to be just Cheen’s bday but Tian told me it was for both people, so me and Melissa went and bought two presents. Anywho, The cake was sooooooooooooooo creamy!!

Other than the fact that the cake was VERY gelak. I think it was a really good cake. And 10 of us managed to finish that HUGE thing, without any cake remaining. Amazing, no?

But the sponge cake on the inside was quite good. Me and Melissa shared one piece. Wanna watch it disappear? hehe.

After dinner, we went to the arcade to play pool, Bishi Bashi, racing and table hockey. Cheen also tried this “torture chair.” We thought it would be actually electricity shocks, but she said it was just vibrations. I was too scared to go and try myself. hehe.

 

That night, we went back to the Angel flat and cleared the floor in Cheen and Sam’s room and created our own mini disco while drinking the night away. We created our own mini Club Atmosphere with the whole shuffling music and the like. We all got tipsy drunk and went to sleep at around 2am.

So that was night one over. When we woke up the next day it was Monday. Monday is Bank holiday so we stayed in and played mahjong then later went outside to play basketball. LJ and Melissa versus Me and Chris. We lost… only because I suck at bball and Melissa is a netball player and LJ is a bball player. Hehe. Chris is good, but i suck… So perhaps the teams weren’t so fair.

That night after basketball and dinner (which was PizzaHut). We decided to watch a horror movie… and then another… and then another. We watched 3 horror movies in a row. The first one had the most KICK. And cause Chris was sitting inbetween me and Melissa, whenever we got scared and jumped, he’d jump too. Especially when we both scream, he has surround sound. hahaha.

We slept at 4am that night. I woke up at 12:55pm realizing I had a meeting I needed to attend in 5 minutes all the way in Harrow and there was no facking way I could make it back all the way to Zone 4 in time. Melissa and LJ had already gone off to class, so when I awoke and started freaking out, it was only me and Chris left in the room. With no other choice I lazed around the room playing poker on Chris’s phone and bluetoothing his music to my phone. Hehe.. slackers association. Wanna join? :P

Left Angel at 6:30pm. Had dinner with Tian Han and his parents. And now I am back in Harrow… ALL ALONE… which i do not want to be… I’ve been around people for too long, don’t take that away from me…

Fresher No More

So my first year of uni is finally over. I am no longer a "fresher" haha.

NOW i just need to finish my 2 logs for next week...
OH and i need to find a place for me next year to stay if I can't stay in halls again...
AND i have this conference I'm working at over May 1 - 21st...

Okay, so I'm not as free as I had hoped. But ah well.. at least for the conference I’m working at, I’m getting paid… And most people are having exams anyways, so they wouldn’t be free to teman me for anything anyways.

I’ve recently got addicted to Sims 2. I’ve downloaded ALOT of the expansion packs…

And with the expansion packs, I have been playing for hours on end and sleeping at 3-4am almost every night. I got my boyfriend addicted to it as well and I’m now in the process of installing all the expansion packs onto his laptop. :D He’s been really addicted to it as well and that’s even before the expansions. But the problem with the one I have is that I can’t build anything, and that drove him insane. Luckily after installing these expansion packs, he’ll be able to put his creative architectural skills to use and build his house.

Sims 3 is coming out on June 9th. I WANT :D Can’t wait for it to come out. Also Last Day of Work has launched a new game called Virtual Families. Its a bit like Sims but not as good graphics and it runs in real time. I tried the trial for about an hour and it was really fun. It costs about USD14 and since the dollar and sterling are almost dollar to dollar its BLOODY expensive :(

So apparently my bf installed Microsoft Office 2007 trial period when he borrowed my laptop and went to work. And then the trial period ended today… And I didn’t know. I tried print screening but it didn’t work. I thought maybe the button on my laptop had malfunctioned… So i went and downloaded another software JUST so I could print screen.. AND NOW I discover that it wasn’t my poor innocent laptop’s fault but it was Microsoft Office Picture Manager itself! So i had to uninstall the whole Office 2007 and reinstall the WHOLE Office 2003.

HAIHHHHHHH…. Now that that’s done. I’m going to restart my computer. :)
